ANTHONY MARTIAL HAILS IBRAHIMOVIC AS THE ''PERFECT ROLE MODEL''.

Manchester United's striker Anthony Martial has endured a difficult second season at United following his 17-goal exploits in his debut campaign with the Reds following his £36million move from Monaco.

Martial has managed just one Premier League goal this season - four in total - and admitted he must learn from Ibrahimovic – who has 15 goals in all competitions – as he bids to force his way back into Mourinho's plans.

“He (Ibrahimovic) is a top player and we can’t help but learn from just being alongside him, playing and training with him, seeing what he's doing now and what he's done in the past,” said Martial.

“In spite of his age, he has been a tremendous help to our side. He's doing loads for us.
“Let’s hope his form can continue because that's going to help us to climb the table, which is our goal.”

While Ibrahimovic has led United's attack with conviction this season, Martial has lacked consistency, failing to match the heroics that made him such a formidable force last term.

His split from long-term partner Samantha Jacquelinet has been cited as one reason for his loss of form, with Martial lacking the same cold focus that made him such a key man last term.

Despite his own issues, Martial claimed “everything is possible” for United in the second half of the season if they can maintain their current winning form.
United have won their last four games in all competitions and are unbeaten in their last ten.

Speaking to Manchester United's official website, the 21-year old said: ''We have a lot of experience in the squad and, together, we have to show what we can do to progress''.

“We're a few points behind the top four at the moment, which we've got to make up, but it's down to us to maintain our good form and turn it into even more victories.”

“We have to take each game as it comes, but if we can continue playing the way we are and add a few more goals, then who knows what we can achieve in terms of trophies this season.”

Martial will be hoping to be named in the Red devils' squad that will face Sunderland on Boxing Day as he continues to fight his way into the rejuvenated Manchester United side.
