BAD NEWS FOR UNITED AS GRIEZMANN IS DECLARED 'HAPPY' IN SPAIN.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has dampened speculation linking his star striker
Antoine Griezmann with Manchester United , insisting that the Frenchman is happy in Spain.

The 25-year-old has emerged as the Red Devils' chief transfer target this summer, with reports in France claiming he has agreed terms with the Premier League side over an end-of-season switch.

But Cerezo is set on hanging on to Griezmann and says be believes that he is enjoying life at the Vicente Calderon.

"Every time I see Antoine I give him a hug," Cerezo told Spainish radio station COPE . "Antoine is a fantastic player and loves life at Atletico."

The France international's contract with the Madrid Club runs till 2021 after penning a new deal in June, which contains a €100million release clause.

Cerezo has always insisted that  Griezmann "will be at Atletico for a long time," despite the growing talk of a summer switch to Old Trafford.

It is speculated that Jose Mourinho's side agreed terms with the player which will see him receive the same salary as his international team-mate and Pal, Paul Pogba - £15million-a-year, with a five-year agreement on the table.

Greizmann's advisor Sebastien Bellencontre believes that a move to Old Trafford would make financial sense.

"When I read articles about a hypothetical transfer to Manchester United I think it would be the ideal commercial scenario," he told So Foot magazine.

"He would play at David Beckham's former club, which is his idol, with the same legendary number (No.7) on his back."
Griezmann has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, including six in his last nine games.
