LUKE SHAW'S FAN ONLY ASKED FOR A PICTURE, BUT THE UNITED'S DEFENDER TOOK HER ON TOUR.

Most fans dream of meeting their idols - maybe even getting a photo with them.

But a Luke Shaw superfan certainly more than she bargained for, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Lifelong Manchester United fan Amy Pustelnik's favourite player has been Shaw since he arrived at the club in 2014.

The teenager has been a huge supporter of the former Southampton player through thick and thin as he struggles to make his mark at the club.

Amy set up a fan account on Instagram for Shaw last year in a bid to inspire him as he fought to come back to full fitness after his horrific leg break.

Currently on her summer break from college, Amy persuaded her mum to drive her 100 miles from their home in Nottingham to United's training ground in Carrington in the hope that she would get a picture with her hero.

Instead, he made her dream come true by inviting her on a private tour of Old Trafford to thank her for her support.

The 17-year-old explained that she had been messaging Shaw and his girlfriend on Instagram to let them know that she would be coming to Carrington with her mum Rebecca, hoping to meet him.

But the teenager had no idea that Shaw would offer to take her to Old Trafford and arrange for her to be given a personal tour of the stadium.

Amy said: "Luke started following my page earlier this year and I was really shocked so I asked him if I came down to Carrington if he would stop for me so I could get a picture.

"When he came out he stopped and had pictures with loads of fans and he asked me if I had been to Old Trafford before.

I told him I had been last season and then he asked me if I wanted to go in his car to the ground and have a tour. I couldn't believe it.

"We were talking about his injury in the car and about when he's hoping to come back and he just kept checking I was okay."

Amy went with Shaw to Old Trafford - after he asked her mum's permission - and a number of the first team were taking part in advertising duties.

First stop for the pair was the hallowed Old Trafford turf and life-long Red Amy couldn't believe her luck as she stepped out with her favourite player on to the pitch.

"I've been on the tour before but you don't get anywhere near the pitch, I just couldn't believe it," she said.

"I was totally amazed, it didn't feel like a real life experience it really was a once in a life time opportunity.

Getting to go on the pitch and have the picture was probably the best part and I can't wait to see him back in a United shirt."

Mum Rebecca explained that it was a very surreal experience and the experience had made her daughter's life.

She said: "He was a true gentleman and really looked after her, we just couldn't believe it.

When she asked if I could take her to the training ground I didn't even think he would stop so that's what I had prepared for.

"It was brilliant for her to just get a signed shirt let alone to go in his car.

We are still in shock, we didn't expect it to happen. It has made her life, not just her year.

"She's obsessed with football and Manchester United and Luke, it's just amazing."

After making the kind gesture, Shaw said: "It was so nice to be able to do something like that. She really did love it.
