SUPER EAGLES' PLAYERS SHOW SUPPORT TO THEIR EMBATTLED TEAMMATE KARL IKEME.


Super Eagles players and coach, yesterday rocked T-Shirts with one of the team's goalkeepers, Carl Ikeme's face embedded on it in a show of solidarity to him as he battles Leukemia.

Carl 31 revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with Leukemia - cancer of the blood and has begun chemotherapy.

Super Eagles' players are presently in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for a crucial World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon billed for Friday September 1st.

Lead by the Coach Genort Hort, the eagles rocked the T-Shirt during a press conference on Wednesday.

A win in the tie will give the Nigeria National team a seven-point lead over the Cameroonians who are second in Group B with two points.

The Eagles will also do battle with their Cameroonian counterparts on September 4th in Cameroon.

Super Eagles Skipper - John Mikel Obi earlier spoke to FIFA.com on what he expects from the two-legged encounter.

The former Chelsea midfielder who has been to two World Cup finals spoke to FIFA.com about Friday's opponents:
"As everyone knows, they are a very good team,” he said of Cameroon. “They are strong and they play with confidence.

We must get ourselves well prepared for this game and try our best to get on top against them.

It won't be easy but these are important matches. If we win both, we will be almost there".
