Tottenham have smashed their club record to sign Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez, the club has announced.
Spurs have landed the 21-year-old on a six-year contract until 2023, for an initial fee of £36.6m that will rise to £38.4m depending on bonuses.
Sanchez joins after a fine season with the Dutch giants in which they reached the Europa League final.
Sanchez won the Rinus Michels Players of the Year award and could not hide his delight at sealing his move to the Premier League.
Davinson said in a Spurs statement: "I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax.
"It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career.
“I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspur. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there."
