"WE WERE 100% GUILTY"; WENGER BLASTS HIS PLAYERS.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits his side did not defend well enough at Stoke - blasting his side for their "stupid mistakes".

The Gunners lost their first game of the campaign as debutant Jese struck a second-half winner.

Arsenal dominated the game but couldn't take any of their chances.

And they were made to pay by Jese - much to the fury of the Arsenal boss.

"It was a very frustrating evening. Not only did we not score the chances we had, but we made stupid mistakes centrally," he said.

"We know in this kind of game it's important not to make a mistake but straight after half-time we were too sluggish on defending and we paid for it.

"First by losing the ball and then we didn't defend properly."

Wenger once again deployed a back three but Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac struggled.
And Wenger added: "I was not convinced by our central defence today.

"Last week we conceded three goals from three shots. Today we have to look at ourselves
"The goal we conceded we were 100 per cent guilty."
