BOMB SCARE AT MANCHESTER AHEAD OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

Manchester is RED after thousands of Feyenoord fans descended on the city centre and let off flares before their team's match against Manchester City, reports the Mirror Sport.

In fairness, the city has also been painted green by Dutch side's supporters, who have taken over a corner of the main shopping area, letting off smoke bombs.

Shambles Square, an area that includes pubs such as Sinclair's and the Old Wellington, is packed with followers of the Rotterdam club.

The fans appear to be in high spirits as their team prepares to take on Pep Guardiola's side at the Etihad Stadium, singing songs in both Dutch and English.

Endearing themselves to City fans, they were heard singing ‘Don’t Take Me Home’ and ‘Who the f*** are Man United?’ earlier.

Police have been keeping a watchful eye on the supporters, but the Manchester Evening News understands they have received no intelligence suggesting trouble.

Feyenoord will have an official allocation of around 3,000 in the ground for the game, but more than that are believed to have made the trip.

The Feyenoord fans are due to be marched from Shambles Square to the Etihad Stadium from about 5pm.
