PIGS INTERRUPT FOOTBALL MATCH .

Charlton Athletic vs Coventry City match was interrupted in the first minute of the League One clash as fans from both clubs showered the pitch in thousands of toy pigs.

Addicks supporters are unhappy with their club management under owner Roland Duchatelet while Sky Blues fans protested against the administration of the Midlands outfit by hedge funders Sisu.

When the referee blew his whistle to get the game underway,  thousands of toy pigs descended on the playing surface, causing the match to be halted while they were cleared up.

Charlton fans did something similar towards the end of last season when they threw beach balls on to the pitch.

Prior to the match, Jan Mokrzycki of the Coventry fans' group Fight The Jimmy Hill Way Alliance said: “We saw this fixture as the opportunity to try something different.

“People shouting they don’t like the owner has been heard a million times. But we fethis together it will be something that will get us a much wider recognition for what we’re trying to do.”

Supporters from both clubs want their owners to sell up, with Charlton having gone through seven managers and dropped down a division since Belgian Duchatelet took control in 2014.
