ARSENAL NEW BOY, BRAMALL HAD 'MENTAL' BEFORE HE JOINED THE GUNNERS.

Cohen Bramall admitted he was ‘gobsmacked’ after being offered a contract by Arsenal, and described the last week as ‘mental’.

Arsenal unveiled the 20-year-old full-back on Tuesday morning after paying non-league Hednesford Town £40,000 for his services.

Bramall also had trials at Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham, but didn’t hesitate when presented with the chance to join Arsenal.

“Crystal Palace came in for me and I went on trial with them for the week, and I played in a behind-closed-doors game against Brentford,” said Bramall. “It went OK, and then I went on trial at Sheffield [Wednesday].

“I played a game at Birmingham City on a Monday. Then on the Tuesday, I was made redundant from Bentley Motors and on the Wednesday, Arsenal came in.”
