''WHEN I DON'T PLAY, I'M SAD''... FABREGAS LAMENTS!

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas admits his lack of first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge this season have left him feeling 'sad'.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has opted to deploy N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic in central midfield, leaving Fabregas watching from the bench on more occasions than not.

The Spaniard has started just five games in the Premier League this season, with a further eight substitute appearances.

He got an assist, taking the free-kick that Gary Cahill scored to make it 2-0 and secure the three points, and insists he wants more game time.

"That was nice," Fabregas told Chelsea's official website. "I play football to win and enjoy. When I don’t play I’m sad and I don’t enjoy it but I’m happy the team is doing well.
"Football is my life, it’s everything to me. Every time I’m on the pitch I try to do my best.

"In this game it went well again so I just need to keep going and show the manager I deserve to play."
