JURGEN KLOPP REVEALS LIVERPOOL HAVE BEEN MISSING SADIO MANE.

Speaking in his Liverpool vs Southampton pre-match match press conference on Monday
Jurgen Klopp admitted Liverpool are missing
Sadio Mane .

The Merseyside club have failed to pick up a single win so far in 2017 and Mane has been missing for five of those six matches.

The 24-year-old is currently at the African Cup of Nations with Senegal and has scored two in two for his country.

Senegal currently sit top of Group B and could potentially go all the way in the tournament. If they did succeed in making the final, Mane would not return until after February 5.

The Reds now face Southampton in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday - and Klopp is determined to not let Mane's absence be an excuse for Liverpool's poor form.

He said: "We missed Sadio, Phil and Joel Matip for a long time. But we've scored enough goals to win games.

"We did really well in most of the things. As much as I like Sadio, it’s not allowed to think that our problems are because we missed Sadio.

"We made other mistakes than not scoring enough goals."
