Real Madrid and city rivals Atletico Madrid, were sanctioned by FIFA over irregularities in signing of minors in January. Both Madrid Clubs appealed against their two-window bans,but Madrid revealed on Thursday that the appeal was Unsuccessful. Madrid's ban was provisionally suspended, giving them opportunity to sign players pending the decision of the appeal, but they failed to take advantage of the situation.
Both Clubs will not sign players for two complete consecutive transfer periods and Real Madrid will pay a fine of CHF360,000 while Atletico have been fined CHF900,000.
Both Clubs have been issued with a reprimand and given 90days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players involved.
