LIVERPOOL BOSS JUERGEN KLOOP WINS MANAGER OF THE MONTH AWARD.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been crowned the Premier League's manager of the month for September.

The Reds chief is the first German to every pick up the gong after leading his side to three wins from three in the top flight last month.

They started September with a 4-1 thumping of champions Leicester at Anfield, before a spectacular effort from Jordan Henderson helped them to a 2-1 win at Chelsea.

They also beat Hull 5-1 to complete their 100 per cent record in September.

Klopp said: "I went into the office of my coaches and said, 'We are Manager of the Month! I don't need personal prizes but it's nice now I have another one'.

"We are on a good way but there are so many good teams in this league and so many difficult games for us, which we have to be ready for.
"I'm fine with the moment, but we have to play a few more games and hopefully we perform well."

Klopp beat Pep Guardiola, Alan Pardew, Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger to the award, which was voted for by a panel of experts and the public.
Hull boss Mike Phelan won the August award.

Klopp's first game after receiving the award will be against Liverpool's fierce rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Monday evening.

It was a double celebration for Liverpool as captain Jordan Henderson scooped the goal of the month award for his spectacular strike against Chelsea.
