Manchester United were surprisingly held by Stoke City at Old Trafford on Sunday after their near perfect performance against Leicester last weekend.
Anthony Martial scored within minutes of coming on as a second half substitute, before Joe Allen equalised with a couple of minutes left.
Mourinho spoke with BT Sport after the game and maintained that he's impressed with his players.
"My view is simple. The best United performance this season. "It could have been three or four nill at half time , six or seven nill at full time, but the result is 1-1.
"That's football, the special One said. "The result is very undeserved. "But I repeat, it was a much better performance than against Leicester.
"Against Leicester, the result made more than the performance and today was exactly the opposite.
"It was the best performance by far. We had six, seven, eight chances to win the game. "Even after the 1-0, we were a United team that wanted to score more goals.
Speaking of Stoke's resilience, Mourinho said, "They fought like they do every game. They came for a draw.
"When they conceded the goal, they could not have to reaction, because we were totally in control. "They were lucky, but lucky is part of football.
Mourinho added, "We hit the post with Pogba, we had face to face chances in both halves, had control of the game, and were playing really well.
"You can say what you want but that is my opinion, and a fair opinion can not be different to mine because I try always to be honest in my analysing.
"I think the reaction of the fans at the end of the game says everything.
