GOALKEEPER BANNED FOR DELIBERATELY CONCEEDING A GOAL.

A North Korean goalkeeper has been banned for a year and fined after deliberately conceding a goal to help his team get a seeming easier path in an international youth competition.

In a ham-fisted attempt to look like he was trying to stop the ball, Jang Paek-ho theatrically ran well out of the 18-yard box to intercept the ball from opposition players.

But he overran the ball and then, when it looked like he should have been able to catch up to it easily before it bounced into the goal, he fell over.

He then fell over again chasing the ball into the back of the net.
The bizarre incident came at the AFC Under-16 Championship in September during North Korea's 3-1 loss to Uzbekistan, the BBC reports.

North Korea lost in the semi-finals of the tournament anyway.
Yang was fined £800 but his manager Yung Jong-su was hit with a £16,000 fine for bringing the game into disrepute. The keeper was banned for a year.

The decision comes ahead of the the U17 World Cup in India next October.
North Korea will compete but without the goalkeeper and the Coach.
