Ilkay Gundogan has opened up on the differences between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
The German midfielder worked under the Liverpool boss at former club Borussia Dortmund, winning two Bundesliga titles and reaching the 2013 Champions League final.
In the summer, the 26-year old linked up with the Catalan coach at Manchester City, and has since emerged as a key man for City so far in the season.
Whereas Gundogan sees many similarities between the Guardiola and Kloop, he also believes there is one key difference in their philosophies.
“Both [styles] are very tiring. “I think the only difference is that Pep wants to dominate the game with possession of the ball, the midfielder added.
''With Klopp, it is about going for second balls, and creating one-on-one situations. Both styles are great and a lot of fun."
Gundogan also admitted to talking to the Guardiola about Kloop.
"We have talked about him a few times.
''We have talked about (Dortmund coach) Thomas Tuchel, too. But I don't think I was able to give him anything decisive about Klopp."
