MANCHESTER UNITED REPLACES MANAGER

Manchester United have acted swiftly in the event of Warren Joyce's departure. It was reported earlier in the week that reserves coach Joyce have joined Wigan Athletic on a three-year deal.

The Club's Head of Academy have now appointed Butt on a temporary basis.

Nicky Butt alongside Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham and the Neville brothers formed the core of the famous Class of '92.

Butt has previously coached the Under-19 team that competed in the UEFA youth League in 2013 and 2015. He co-owns Salford City FC.

Butt's first assignment is at Brentford on Saturday.
