BARCELONA TO APPEAL MESSI'S YELLOW CARD.

Barcelona have confirmed they will appeal the yellow card given to Lionel Messi for time wasting in the Catalans' 2-1 win at Sevilla on Sunday.

Messi was booked while attempting to put his boot back on following a challenge with Steven N'Zonzi late in the match.

Boss Luis Enrique said the 29-year-old's laces were broken. A statement from Barcelona read:
''The club have presented an appeal against the yellow card that Leo Messi received on Sunday in the match against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan, which Barca won 2-1 thanks to a goal from the Argentine."

Luis Suarez was also booked, meaning the Uruguayan will miss the next fixture against Malaga following the international break, but should be available for away games against Real Sociedad and Real Madrid.

Suarez admitted his yellow card, received for dissent, was a 'good thing'.
