GRIEZMAAN, A MAJOR DOUBT FOR THIS WEEKEND'S MADRID DERBY

Atletico striker Antoine Griezmann is a doubt for Saturday's Madrid derby after sustaining an injury while playing for France in their 2-1 win over Sweden on Friday.

Atletico have confirmed in a statement that the Frenchman will be given a fresh course of treatment.

"In the X-ray that was completed, an injury to the bone was ruled out, and the diagnosis indicates that he has suffered a trauma with a haematoma on the left foot; the statement read.

Griezmann who is Atletico's highest goal scorer this term with six La Liga goals is a doubt for Saturday's Madrid derby at the Calderon.

"On Monday, he will continue with a new course of treatment and his recovery will continue to be assessed."

The 25-year old has returned to the Spanish capital and will not feature in France's friendly against the Ivory Coast on Tuesday.
