CHELSEA LEGEND, FRANK LAMPARD RETURNS.

Chelsea will offer Frank Lampard a job at Stamford Bridge following his exit from New York City reports the mirror.

The legendary midfielder, 38, will leave the Major League Soccer side when his contract expires in December.

And the Blues are reportedly prepared to have him back in a coaching, ambassadorial or mentoring capacity.

Chelsea are keen to embrace their former stars, to prevent the kind of breakdown in relationship that has occurred with former players at Arsenal.

Patrick Vieira , Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry are among a number of ex-pros who have hit out at Gunners boss Arsene Wenger for being overlooked after hanging up their boots.

During Lampard's time in Chelsea, he won three Premier League titles - four FA Cups, two League Cups, the Champions and Europa League, scoring 211 goals in the process to become Chelsea all time leading scorer.

He signed a deal with New York City in July 2014, but surprisingly moved to the US side’s sister club Manchester City on loan the following month.

He returned to New York to make such an impact that the city celebrated a day in his honour on September 1.

Rumours even have it that Chelsea Owner, Roman Abramovich is planning to add the legendary midfielder to Antonio Conte's backroom staff.
