DEPAY TO LEAVE MAN UTD FOR EVERTON IN JANUARY?

Everton Manager, Ronald Koeman has confirmed his interest in bringing Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay to Everton.

The Dutchman is yet to start a game and has just 20 minutes worth of substitute appearances to his name in the Premier League since Jose Mourinho took over.

Speculation has been growing over Depay's future at Old Trafford as a result and Everton could swoop in January.

Koeman told FOX Sports Netherlands programme De tafel van Kees: "I would like to have him.

"I think he is an interesting player. He has great individual qualities. He just needs to play games."

Depay signed for United from Feyenoord in £25million in May 2015 and his contract runs till the summer of 2019.

The 22-year-old starred in patches in his first season, under former boss Louis Van Gaal. He has however been backed by former Holland international Jordi Cruyff to hit the heights that his potential once suggested he could reach.

"He's young and the first year is always an adaptation year," Cruyff told Gulf News .
"In the second year, you can feel more loose, but with the managerial change, and many new players, that second year he might have needed hasn't come.

"United are also a club that cannot be four or five years without really competing to win things. "There may be more changes, but I hope he will not be one of those victims and in the wrong club at the wrong time.

"For sure, United are an amazing club, but I also think Depay is a good player.
"For whatever reason, a certain player and club don't connect.

" Even Ibrahimovic when he came to Barcelona, he was an amazing player, but it didn't happen for him.

"It doesn't mean the club are bad or the player is bad."

Depay reminded Mourinho that he's still a top player when he scored twice in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday against Luxembourg.

His first goal was a fine header, while his second which sealed a 3-1 win after Arjen Robben's opener was a Superb free-kick.
