CONTE AND MORATA THANK CHELSEA FANS.

Chelsea and prolific forward Alvaro Morata have thanked supporters for changing the words to a controversial chant about the Spanish superstar.

Morata had a day to remember at the bet365 Stadium after scoring a memorable hat-trick to take his Premier League tally to six goals in six matches following his big summer move from Real Madrid.

The prolific forward has wasted no time becoming a fans favourite, but Chelsea fans came under fire for an original chant about the 24-year-old after it included a derogatory reference to London rivals Tottenham with an Anti-Semitic term.

The song attracted wide-range criticism and was condemned by Chelsea who vowed to take 'the strongest possible action' against any fan who was identified to be singing the song.

Fans have clearly obliged and changed the words to honour their new star forward who is wasting no time showcasing his talents in the Premier League by singing 'Alvaro, Alvaro, he comes from sunny Spain, he's better than Harry Kane.'

Chelsea confirmed after the game that Morata was happy with the new song and is happy that the version is not causing any kind of offence.

Head of communications Steve Atkins said: "We spoke to Alvaro after the game and he was also grateful for the change.'

Morata showed his appreciation by going on social media and posting the following" 'Thank you so much for the new song!! You are the best!!'

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was also pleased to see the fans had changed the words and said they contributed a great a deal to helping the Premier League champions record an impressive 4-0 win over Stoke.

Conte said: "It was a good change and I am pleased with the new chant," Conte said. "Our fans were fantastic, they pushed us a lot.

In this stadium who push a lot [for Stoke], I want to thank our fans as they helped the team a lot today."
