"THE CRITICISM IS GETTING WORSE"; RONALDO LAMENTS!

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken fresh aim at his critics after his double in Dortmund helped Real Madrid to a 3-1 win in the Champions League.

The Portuguese superstar made his return to domestic action in Los Blancos' defeat to Real Betis earlier this month but failed to score.

He again didn't find the target in the 2-1 win at Deportivo Alaves, but he was back on form in Germany, bagging a brace at the Westfalenstadion.

And he hit out at those who questioned him following the game, insisting he must keep proving himself every time he steps on to the pitch.

"It seems that I have to keep showing exactly who I am in every match," he said.

"I am surprised by what the public thinks of me, my numbers speak for themselves, I am an exemplary professional and I always have a clear mind.
"The criticism is getting worse."

Ronaldo was seemingly spurred on by his doubters as his goals plus a fantastic volley from Gareth Bale moved them on to six points, level with Tottenham (who equally won against Apoel) at the top of Group H.

"Before the game we spoke about how much we wanted to win in Dortmund," he added.

"We did what the coach told us, the team has been phenomenal, creating opportunities and it isn't easy to score three goals here.
"We played well."
