PSG MANAGEMENT STEP IN AND ORDER CAVANI AND NEYMAR TO SETTLE THEIR FEUD.

The Paris Saint-Germain management team have reportedly ordered Neymar and Edinson Cavani to settle their differences at training on Wednesday afternoon.

The two forwards clashed on the pitch during the 2-0 win over Lyon on Sunday evening when they argued over who should take a second half penalty.

Cavani , the side's usual penalty taker, would see his spot kick saved by Anthony Lopes.

Reports in the French media claimed that the tensions then escalated in the dressing room after the game, which was won by two own goals, with the pair having to be kept apart before the Uruguayan stormed out 20 minutes after half-time.

The players are due to return to training today after their usual two days off and L'Equipe report that manager Unai Emery, sporting director Antero Henrique and possibly team co-ordinator Maxwell will all meet with the pair to resolve the issue.

The growing friction between the pair has marred the team's dominant early-season form, where the pair, alongside Kylian Mbappe have been instrumental in seeing their side win all six of their Ligue 1 matches to start the season, netting 21 goals in the the process.

They also secured a 5-0 win over Celtic in their Champions League opener.

Cavani, who netted 49 times for the club last season and already has nine this time out, was seen noticeably leaving the field immediately following the full-time whistle, neglecting to join in the celebrations with his team-mates, who were saluting the club's supporters.

Before the penalty disagreement, PSG were awarded a free kick, where the Uruguayan and Brazilian squabble, with Dani Alves refusing to hand over the ball to Cavani - only for Neymar to swoop in and take the ball and then the free kick.

PSG are back in action at Montpellier on Saturday, before facing their sternest test of the season, when Bayern Munich visit the Parc des Princes in the Champions League.

It is therefore vital that Emery and the rest of the senior management team solve the friction that could create a fracture in the French side's expensively-assembled squad.
