SOME FOOTBALL REVIEW OF THE PAST WEEK, ACROSS THE GLOBE.

PREMIER LEAGUE:
It takes a super team to be scoring the way Manchester City are presently scoring; 5,4, and 6 goals in their last 3 matches. Crystal Palace, get ready for next weekend.

Pogba who?
When the much maligned Fellaini is presently playing as if he's the one United paid £89m for, who cares when the French man returns from his hamstring injury.

However, Everton need our prayers this period.
The toffees honestly were better when their squad was £130m poorer.
If Koeman believes that Rooney is their new Lukaku, then he should think again.

Chelsea thought they have won it even before the ball was kicked at Stamford Bridge, against Arsenal.
But they were wrong! Sorry Blues! You guys emptied your tank of goals against Quarabag in midweek. I wish you a quick recovery!

Meanwhile, the Gunners took home one point that looked like three points; that's the mentality of a team whose major object is a top four spot.

Don't judge a book by its cover, as the popular saying goes.
Write Newcastle off, and they punish you.
Another day, another decent game and another win. Rafa's men mean business.

It is easier to bet against a Coutinho-less Liverpool than a Mane-less one. The Senegalese served the first of his three games ban against Burnley on Saturday, and the Reds missed him dearly.
I hope they don't miss him as they did in January.

Moreover, Mr. Hodgson have inherited a huge problem at Crystal Palace.

Though I have my reservations about his appointment, I hope he doesn't perform worse than his predecessor as he prepare for Etihad trip.

LIGUE 1.
With the two world's most expensive players in their ranks, PSG have 'no right' to make their fans nervous watching. If not for those 'beautiful own goals' in the last quarter of the game against Lyon, the heat would have been on this early.
Apart from Monaco and Marseille who equally scored more than ones in the weekend, it was a litany of 1-0s, and no draw was recorded in the French top flight the last weekend.
Not so gooooood!!!

SERIE A.
Home or away, the usual suspects wanted 3 points, and got it. Lazio, Juve, the Milan sides and Florentina impressed. While Napoli provided the Italian version of that Watford v Manchester City game, when they hit Benevento for six, albeit in front of their home fans.

BUNDESLIGA:
In Germany, Bayern scored 4, Leverkusen matched it but Dortmund bettered it and deservedly top the league.
Could this be their first league title post-Klopp era?
Time shall tell.

LA LIGA:
Alaves, Espanyol, Deportivo Lacoruna and Malaga had better started picking up points. Already, they seem to be playing in lower league.

Meanwhile, Gareth Bale stepped up on Sunday to prove that there's life without CR7 as the champions ended Sociedad's 100% start to the season.

Yeah! His name is Messi!!!
But the Argentinian maestro is never 'Messiful' while on the pitch.
His brilliance has helped Barca to the top of La Liga table, and the Catalan giants look so ordinary without the five-time Ballon d'or winner.

On a sad note, I sympathise with the families who lost their loved ones during the recent crisis in the South East of Nigeria.
To those who suffered injuries, we wish a quick recovery.

See you next week!

Hugs from #Iyke Ojiobi#.
