GUARDIOLA WAS LUCKY AT BARCELONA, AND MADE BAYERN BORING... PETER SCHMEICHEL

Manchester United legend, Peter Schmeichel has aimed a swipe at Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola ahead of the Manchester derby this Saturday.
Guardiola enjoyed a stellar four years at Barcelona. He won the Champions League twice, the La Liga three times and Copa del Roy 2 times before he left for Bayern Munich where he won three Bundesliga titles and two DFB-Pokal cups.He could not win the Champions League with the German giants whom he inherited as European Champions.

Schmeichel told Omnisport: "What he did with Barcelona was fantastic, he was very lucky he had the players at Barcelona, but He was very smart with what he did.
"The Premier League is completely different animal to any other in the world (though). The Dane added, "it just goes on and on, you feel it never stops, even in March, you 12 games to go, you think, will this ever stop?

The Champions League winner, added, "He was okay at Bayern Munich. I have to say he was okay. "For me personally, he changed a really good, and entertaining team to become more boring to watch.
Schmeichel also spotted the difference between Sir Alex Ferguson's philosophy and Pep Guardiola's.
"Whereas Sir Alex Ferguson's first priority was "we have to be able to score goals ". For most coaches, that is the priority, but with Pep,  it's possession, I want to have as much possession as possible.
So the philosophy goes to 'I want to have so much possession, so that at some point, we will score a goal from that. The goals will come from possession. That is his philosophy.
