The Manchester City forward was charged for violent conduct by the FA for elbowing Winston Reid during Sunday's Premier League match against West Ham. At the time of the incident, Referee Andre Marriner took no action, which forced the FA into taking a retrospective action. Aguero had till Wednesday to respond to the charge. Sources close to the Argentinian claims that he is challenging the charge.
If found guilty, the prolific striker will miss City's next three games :the Manchester derby, the league and EFL matches against Bournemouth and Swansea respectively.
Aguero's fate will be decided by an FA panel on Friday. Injury could as well rule him out of the derby, as he limped out of the West Ham game with a suspected muscle injury.
His absence could hand Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho his first derby start.
