FULL TIME AT GOODWILL AKPABIO STADIUM: NIGERIA v CAMEROON
NIGERIA 4 CAMEROON 0.
Ighalo 29', Mikel 42', Moses 55', Iheanacho 76'.
PREVIEW:
As far as World Cup qualifiers are concerned, the Super Eagles have the upper hand against their opponents. The Eagles got four points off Cameroon in qualification for the Mexico 1970 edition.
It was only in 1989 ahead of the Italy 1990 mundial that Nigeria lost to their Cameroonian counterparts.
So the Super Eagles, despite having lost in three African Cup of Nations final to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon (1984,1988,2000), have the statistical and psychological advantage going into this crucial tie.
A win here tonight against the African champions would see Nigeria take the bragging rights into the second leg in Yaounde on Monday.
