DANI ALVES OVERTAKES ZLATAN AS HE WINS HIS 34TH MAJOR CLUB TROPHY.

Dani Alves just won the 34th major club honour of his stellar career.

The Brazilian who won the League and Cup double with Juventus in Italy last season, knocked back Manchester City and his old pal Pep Guardiola to join PSG - and has already won his first bit of silverware with the French giants.

The right back helped his new side to a 2-1 win in the French Super Cup against the reigning French Champions - Monaco.

When you consider only trophies won with club sides (i.e. not individual awards or international honours), this latest triumph moves Alves ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the third most decorated footballer in the world.

With Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG and Manchester United, Zlatan has won 33 trophies - now one fewer than Alves has won in his time with Bahia, Sevilla, Barcelona, Juve and now PSG.

Interestingly, there are still two men ahead of them on the list of 'Footballers With The Biggest Personal Trophy Cabinets'.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is currently second, with 35 major honours - which is not terribly surprising.

Guess who is on top of the list.
It's not Lionel Messi (currently on 29), Andres Iniesta (30) or any of the other names you're currently thinking about.

It is Brazilian left-back Maxwell.

Surprise?

In a career with Cruzeiro, Ajax, Inter, Barcelona and PSG, Maxwell - who only won 10 caps for Brazil - has lifted an astonishing 36 major trophies.
