MATIC DELIGHTED TO HAVE REUNITED WITH MOURINHO.

Nemanja Matic is "delighted" to have completed his £40m move from Chelsea to Manchester United , linking up with Jose Mourinho for a third spell.

Discarded by Antonio Conte after claiming the Premier League title for the second time with the Blues, Matic has penned a three year deal with the option of an additional 12 months.

The Serb has joined the Red Devils for an undisclosed fee, penning a three-year deal at Old Trafford.

"I am delighted to have joined Manchester United. To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down," Matic explained.

"I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support.

I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them.

"This is a very exciting time for the club and I am looking forward to playing my part in creating more history for this great club."

Jose Mourinho was thrilled to bring the big Serb on board and claimed he has everything he could want in a player.

"Nemanja is a Manchester United player and a Jose Mourinho player. He represents everything we want in a footballer; loyalty, consistency, ambition, team player," Mourinho claimed.

"I would like to thank him for his desire to join us because without that, it would be impossible to have him here.

I am sure our players and supporters will love him. A big welcome to our new number 31."

The Serb has won two Premier League titles with the Blues since he re-signed for them in 2014.

Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko earlier this summer, which paved the way for Matic to leave the club, with Antonio Conte omitting him from the club's pre-season tour.

Matic's arrival follows the signings of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku this summer.
