Midfielder, N’Golo Kante knows that Chelsea players must do all it takes not to fall below last season's title winning standards.
The Footballer of the Year said: “After every game you have to do better in the next game and the season is the same.
After last season we have to start in the same way and try to do better.
“We know at a club like Chelsea a good season means to win titles.
So we will try to win some. We will win what we can win.”
Chelsea got off to an unhappy start to the league last season, but turned it around to win the title, although Arsenal upset the Blues in the FA Cup final. And Kante admits Chelsea they will have something to prove against Arsenal who they play in Beijing on Saturday and again in the Community Shield at Wembley in the annual curtain-raiser.
Kante said: “Arsenal played well in the FA Cup final, better than us and they deserved the victory.
"This will be just a friendly game. It is important for our preparation. But the season will really start in the Community Shield.”
After missing out on last season's Champions League having finished 10th in the previous season, the Blues will compete with Europe's elites this season and the French Midfielder knows that Chelsea must be up to the task.
“It will be the first time to play in the Champions League; Kante added.
"Chelsea was the last English club to win it and a club like Chelsea needs to be in the Champions League.
We have to think about doing very well in it.”
