IT IS NEYMAR THAT DECIDES IF HE WANTS TO LEAVE; ADMITS BARCA PRESIDENT.

Neymar to PSG has been one of the most talked about sagas of this transfer window.

The dethroned French champions are reportedly willing to trigger the Brazilian's release clause of about £197m this summer. And the Catalans may be forced to do business as the club president - Bartomeu admits that everything lies with the player.

Marca reports that the president of Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu has suggested that it is the players that decide as and when they move on.

Speaking to the New York Times, Bartomeu said: "Neymar is one of our best players and we do not want to lose him.

"We want him to continue with us, he still has four years left, but the players decide if they want to go so there's nothing more to say.

"We need him because, if we want to win [trophies], we need to have the best players."

Meanwhile, Neymar's team-mate Ivan Rakitic has urged him to snub a move to the French Capital.

Speaking in Miami, the 29-year-old midfielder warned the Brazilian would not be revered in France the way he is in Spain.

He said: "We want to do important things this season and he is a key piece.

"Footballers like Ney are not everywhere, not just as a player, but as a person. He knows he's very important for us.

"We already know what we think. The team is like a family and we all want him to stay.

Whatever he decides, you have to respect it 100 per cent.

"But as a companion and great friend, I tell him to stay with us.

The affection he has here, he will not find anywhere.
"I hope he stays with us."
