BAYERN SET TO HIRE FORMER BOSS JUPP HEYNCKES FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

Bayern Munich are reportedly set to hire their former boss Jupp Heynckes as manager until the end of the season.

The Bavarians sacked Carlo Ancelotti last week following their 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and have now secured 72-year-old Heynckes until the end of the season, according to German outlet Bild.

Heynckes retired from management when he left Bayern in 2013 after winning the treble in his third spell at the club and was replaced by Pep Guardiola.

But he is now set for a shock fourth stint at the Bundesliga side after Bayern tempted him out of retirement.

Heynckes a former German international  played 369 matches in the German Bundesliga, scoring 220 goals. His tally is the third highest in the German top flight, after Gerd Müller's 365 goals and Klaus Fischer's 268 goals.
