MOURINHO SAYS HE WILL FIELD NINE STRIKERS AGAINST LIVERPOOL ON SATURDAY.

Jose Mourinho was in a jovial mood in his press conference ahead of Manchester United's early kickoff  with Liverpool on Saturday.

The Portuguese knows how much this fixture means to the fans; and when asked to reveal how Manchester United would approach the match, he answered characteristically in a Mourinho fashion.

"I play with one defender and nine strikers, don't worry about it," joked Mourinho.

"We play with one guy behind and then we go with a new system and we play with nine strikers, don't worry about it."

United are second in the Premier League despite being on joint points with high flying Manchester City.

Liverpool started the campaign brightly but have struggled for points lately, but Mourinho isn't prepared to write them off as a threat.

"I don't put Liverpool as a team that is in this moment in the middle of the table, because they're not going to be there at the end of the season," said Mourinho.

"Last season we didn't win three points [at Liverpool], we got one, but we got one comfortably, without any problems.

"Let's see what happens this season, we want to win, last season we wanted to win, we couldn't. This season we want to win."
