ZIDANE IS BACKING ISCO INSTEAD OF RONALDO FOR THE BALLON D'OR.

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely seen as the favourite to win the 2017 Ballon d’Or award; the fifth which will draw him level with Lionel Messi for the first time.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane who won the award in 1998 speaks ahead of their Champions League clash with Tottenham, on the individual award and why he likes a particular player.
ON THE BALLON D’OR.
“I’m not going to put anyone on the podium.”
“The Ballon d’Or is something else, people vote.”
“I will only tell you that I like Isco a huge amount because he’s always creative, he always tries.”
“For me, the player that always tries ends up with success.”
ON HARRY KANE JOINING REAL MADRID.
“I don’t know what will happen in the future, but in the present, what he is doing has made him a very important player, a key player.
“He is very good at everything. But what he does, he always does it towards the goal, so to speak. He does not just stay (still) on the field, but he always attacks space at speed.
“He is a complete player. He did not seem to be one (at first), but in the end, he is.”
“We know he is a very good player and things are going well for him but Tottenham is not just Kane – they are a very good team and we will prepare for the game very well.”
ON TOTTENHAM
“We are playing against a very good team and that is good for us – it encourages us to play a good match.
“Tottenham has always been a great club, but they are constantly improving and they have a great coach. It will be a good game between two strong teams. It will be the group final.”
