SOME FOOTBALL HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEKEND ACROSS THE GLOBE.

PREMIER LEAGUE:
Manchester clubs are on fire!
City's emphatic victory over Chelsea highlighted the strength in Guardiola's squad. Despite being without Aguero and Mendy, the citizens went home with the points they deserved. We would have seen much more goals if it was a team "smaller" in statues than Chelsea.
Though they lost, but Chelsea were lucky!

Meanwhile, the red half of Manchester have continued the next chapter of Crystal Palace's obituary. Four goals that looked like nails on the Eagles' coffin ensured that Mourinho's charges remain joint-top (with points) on the log.

If your doubting Harry Kane's class, check again! The 24-year old hardly fails to score in every game he plays.

In fact, it is becoming easier to bet against snow falling on a Christmas than the Spurs' hit man scoring more than 30 goals this season.

In North London, Arsene Wenger celebrated his 21st anniversary at Arsenal with a 2-0 win over Brighton; the same scoreline when the Gunners beat Blackburn on Wenger's debut.

Peeps what's happening at Everton?
I keep asking every other week; what else is needed to improve a squad that was beefed up with a whooping £130m in the summer?
Ronald Koeman must be looking over his shoulders,  as punters bet early before the odds for his sack is slashed. Four consecutive losses!
The Dutch coach is certainly on the brink.

LA LIGA
Catalonia referendum took center stage in Spain last weekend, but football didn't go to sleep.
However, a "behind closed doors" clash between Barca and Las Palmas showed the "strange world" of the beautiful game.
A world without fans to admire and cheer special talents like Messi and Iniesta.
However, the diminutive Argentinian superstar, Messi inspired Barca to a comfortable 3-0 win.

Elsewhere, Isco was again the star of the show as his brace helped Los Blancos defeat Barca's neighbours Espanyol.

Valencia did a good job in that five-goal thriller versus Athletic Bilbao, as Sevilla remain on the heels of the League leaders - Barca with their 2-0 win against Malaga.

Real Sociedad and Real Betis was the blockbuster of the weekend in Spain. A game of eight goals is a rare commodity these days, but both sides served us a great game and equally shared the spoils.

Alaves against all odds secured their first win of the season; beating Levante away from home.
Sorry if this game spoilt your ticket.

LIGUE 1.
After the midweek demolition of Bayern Munich. A game that ultimately bidded "Au revoir" to Carlos Ancelloti, PSG returned to domestic chores in the weekend, scoring 6 goals in less than 60 minutes to send Bordeaux to the cleaners.

Elsewhere, defending Champions Monaco could not do better than PSG against Montpellier, as they only got a point for their efforts.

Angers versus Lyon can best be described as a game of attacking excellence and defensive indifference.
3-3 was the final score, but it would have been more!

SERIE A.
Napoli keep beating teams with ease this term. Their 100% start to the league was never at risk when they faced Cagliari on Sunday as they scored three times to make it 25 goals in seven Serie A games.
Elsewhere, Roma came back from San Siro with three points while Internationale took three points back to Milan after beating Benevento.

Dybala missed a penalty in Juventus draw against Atalanta as the Old Lady dropped their first points of the season.

BUNDESLIGA.
Bayern Munich began life without Ancelloti with a 2-2 draw at Hertha Berlin.
Dortmund still look a good bet for the Bundesliga title.
Leipzig continue to grind out results.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Etiole Sahel beat Al Ahly 2-1 in Tunis in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi final.

Elsewhere, USM Alger were only able to draw their first leg against Wydad in Algeria.

Our hearts go out to the 29 people who were hurt in the incident which occurred in the 16th minute of Amiens' Ligue 1 match with Lille at the Stade de la Licorne.

A barrier in front of the away section buckled as fans celebrated Fode Ballo-Toure's goal, and dozens fell about one and a half metres onto the pitch.
The match was abandoned and the stadium evacuated after a security meeting.

We wish those in the hospital a speedy recovery.

Let's do it again next week.
