"WE ARE READY TO WIN"; MIKEL BOASTS AHEAD OF WC QUALIFIER AGAINST ZAMBIA.

The Super Eagles are itching closer to the 2018 World Cup and they will hope to ensure their place with a win at Godswill Akpabio international Stadium Uyo on Saturday.

Gernot Rohr’s men are three points clear at the summit of Group B with two games remaining. This implies that if they can maintain their unbeaten streak on Saturday against Zambia,  as they have done all through the qualifiers, they will be guaranteed a spot in Russia next year.

For the Chipolopolo – who are Super Eagles’ nearest rival – a shock win at the ‘Nest of Champions’ would offer them a lifeline to qualify for their maiden World Cup.

The Chipolopolo head into this tie on a revenge mission having bowed 2-1 at home in their first game – a result they could regret should they falter in Uyo.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles' Captain, John Mikel Obi is very optimistic about Nigeria's chances of qualifying in a grand style by defeating Zambia on Saturday, with a game to spare.

“We have gone too far, laboured too hard to now look back. Zambia will attack but we will attack back as well as defend to reach our goal of playing in Russia 2018. We are ready to win; Mikel said.

We will do the talking on the pitch. Our defence is ready to stop them”, added Mikel, who also captains Chinese side Tianjin Teda.
